Big foot forward

Michael Milton is putting his best foot forward in a new business venture.

Big Foot Adventures will give him a chance to show visitors around his beloved home town of Canberra and the region while also giving him another reason to ride his bike.

"I have a passion for cycling and for Canberra and I love being outdoors. This new business is a combination of all my passions so I'm really excited about it. The national monuments, the lake, the trails through the bush and fantastic, world-class facilities like the mountain bike trails at Stromlo are cycling gold but so few outsiders know about them," said Milton.

Milton hopes his tours will also appeal to the conferencing industry where he already does a lot of work as a motivational speaker.

"I like to think that people are motivated to be more active after hearing one of my presentations. But words are just words. Now I can back it up by taking them for a ride or a walk and perhaps even challenging them to go beyond their own limits. As I say 'If the dude with one leg can ride a bike or walk up Mt Ainslie, what's stopping you?'"
