A very personal plea from Michael

Cancer sucks! And fighting cancer is tough, tougher than running a marathon, even on crutches!

Last week cancer took my friend Declan. He was 10, about the same age I was when I got cancer the first time. Declan was tough and he fought a marathon battle.

During the toughest moments of my attempt to run a marathon this Sunday thoughts of Declan will motivate me to make it to the end. In memory of him I am using my world record attempt to raise funds for Smiling for Smiddy, a charity that runs cool and challenging events to raise money for cancer research.
