ONE COLD COLD MORNING
Posted:
TWENTY FIVE brave LJ Hooker team members joined Michael to walk up Mt Ainslie in Canberra very early on what turned out to be the city's coldest June day in 43 years.
Principal, Mario Sanfrancesco, invited Michael to speak to staff from the Tuggeranong agency at a breakfast but not until they had all completed the circuit up and down the landmark behind the Australian War Memorial.
"Mario wanted to challenge his team in a way they aren't normally challenged in the real estate industry," explained Michael. "The early morning walk was brilliant and the presentation at breakfast afterward reinforced what we had all just experienced.
"There were some who wouldn't have made it without help from the rest of the group. They realised they had to walk as a team, encourage each other and keep everyone motivated. It really was fantastic."
"I would love to use physical activities more with the presentations but often there just isn't the time in the conference program or the client doesn't see the benefit. But it's a great way to get people motivated and to help them understand how important it is to have a balanced life," said Michael.
"Seeing people overcome their fears and find the confidence and the strength to achieve a new goal really inspires me. Plus I really enjoyed the walk, even if it was BLOODY cold!"
