Michael was one of seven nominees selected by a media panel forPerformer of the Year with a Disability at the second annual Sports Performer Awards.
The Awards consist of six categories and the winners were announced at a special function held in Melbourne in November. They aim to be one of the most prestigious prizes in Australian Sport - recognising the very best Performers from the previous 12 months.
Nominees are selected by a panel of some of the most respected sports journalists in the country and the winners chosen by Australia's sporting public via an online voting system.
Swimmer Matt Cowdrey was announced as the Performer of the Year with a Disability.
