WITH four days until the official Beijing team announcement this Friday, Michael Milton is focussing on training, confident his name will be on the final list.

Cycling Australia has already nominated its team to the Australian Paralympic Committee (APC) and Milton has received the all-important call from the head coach.

'There is a period of time following Cycling Australia's nominations that allows for protests and their resolution and then the APC will make a final announcement,' explain Milton.

That day is this Friday and, although confident of final selection, Milton says he wont be openly celebrating until then.

'I know that life can take all sorts of unexpected twists and turns so I wont be completely happy until I hear my name read out on Friday.

'Each of these steps though is a milestone in my quest to overcome cancer and to compete in Bejing. I celebrate each and every tick on the list with my family. Any excuse for a party I say,' laughed Milton.
