WITH four days until the official Beijing team announcement this Friday,
Michael Milton is focussing on training, confident his name will be on the
Cycling Australia has already nominated its team to the Australian
Paralympic Committee (APC) and Milton has received the all-important call
from the head coach.
'There is a period of time following Cycling Australia's nominations that
allows for protests and their resolution and then the APC will make a final
announcement,' explain Milton.
That day is this Friday and, although confident of final selection, Milton
says he wont be openly celebrating until then.
'I know that life can take all sorts of unexpected twists and turns so I
wont be completely happy until I hear my name read out on Friday.
'Each of these steps though is a milestone in my quest to overcome cancer
and to compete in Bejing. I celebrate each and every tick on the list with
my family. Any excuse for a party I say,' laughed Milton.
