paratriathlon

Paratriathlon will debut at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio.

Although Michael has no firm plans to try to qualify for these Games, he is passionate about the sport as it combines two of his strongest disciplines: cycling and swimming.

In 2011 he qualified to represent Australia at the World Triathlon Championships in Beijing, China. He came fourth in his class, a result he is aiming to better at this year's championships in Auckland, New Zealand.

Michael has also competed in the Noosa Triathlon, the Huskission Triathlon and various other domestic events.

He is a member of Triathlon Australia's Paratriathlon Committee, a body with the responsibility to develop the sport in Australia and prepare for the sport's Paralympic debut.

In order to attract more athletes the sport and provide a forum for discussion, Michael created a Facebook group called Paratri Athletes Australia.
