Almost halfway

TUESDAY 31 JULY 2007: Michael finished the chemotherapy on the weekend and is now almost halfway through the radiotherapy sessions.

Although still feeling positive, he is extrememly tired and experiencing quite a bit of pain and discomfort. The cumulative damage to his oesophagus from the radiotherapy makes it almost impossible to eat or drink.

He has another nine radiotherapy sessions left, followed by 4-6 weeks of rest to prepare for the surgery which, all going well, is scheduled for mid-September.
