Treatment begins

TUESDAY 24 JULY: Michael started radiation treatment and chemotherapy in Canberra yesterday.

He will continue to receive radiotherapy daily for the next three to four weeks and, at this stage, the chemotherapy will be finished by this weekend.

Michael has not yet had a really adverse reaction to the drugs but it is early days yet. The surgery will happen in 8-10 weeks time.

We have received more offers of support than we can ever use and over 500 emails, phone calls and cards from people wishing us well. It's been so overwhelming but also extremely encouraging.
