Smiling for Smiddy
Held in memory of Adam Smiddy, who passed away to an aggressive cancer aged
26, Smiling for Smiddy delivers inspired challenge events which engage
individuals and communities to raise funds for cancer research, the Smiddy
way.
Each year hundreds of cyclists and triathletes use a passion for their sport to fight this devastating disease. More than $5 million has been raised since 2006.
Smiling for Smiddy supports cancer research that has national and international impact. Funds enable the dedicated team of scientists at Mater Research to undertake potentially life-saving research into the causes, prevention and improved treatments of cancer.
Current Mater Research efforts include research into melanoma, prostate, breast and ovarian cancers as well as complementary therapies for cancer patients.
We are also proud to contribute to the important work being done nationally by Melanoma Patients Australia.
